Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies and records the usual aggregate information: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device type and where you arrived from. We use it to decide what to write next, not to identify anybody.
• Affiliate clicks. When you click a product link we record that the click happened, which merchant it went to and which page it came from. That event contains no personal information - it is how we know a page is useful.
• The contact form. If you send a message we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply. That is the only place this site asks you for anything.

What we do not do

• No user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to store.
• No newsletter and no mailing list. We do not have one.
• No advertising network, so no ad-targeting cookies from a third-party ad exchange.
• No selling or sharing of personal information with anybody, ever.
• No payments. We do not sell anything, so we never see card details.

Third parties

Three companies process data as a result of you using this site, and they each have their own privacy terms:

• Google (Analytics). Processes the aggregate analytics described above.
• Amazon. When you follow a product link, Amazon sets its own cookies to attribute the visit to us. Everything after you leave this site is governed by Amazon's privacy terms, not ours. See the affiliate disclosure for how that works.
• Microsoft. Contact form messages are delivered by Microsoft Graph to the mailbox behind info@scrapeandshield.com.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for operational and security purposes.

Cookies

The cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics, and from Amazon once you click through to a product. There are no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you across other sites for ad targeting. Browser controls to block or clear cookies work normally here, and blocking them does not break anything - the site does not need them to function.

Your choices

• Block or clear cookies in your browser, or use a tracker blocker. The site works exactly the same.
• Ask what we hold about you. Realistically that is only a contact form message if you sent one.
• Ask us to delete a contact message. Email us and we will delete the thread.

Children

This site is written for adults buying car equipment and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the last-reviewed date at the top of the page changes with it. Scrape & Shield is published by Slate Mill Group.
